Been a while since I last talked about my online comic strip reading habits. I culled a lot from my old list when I changed over to Google Reader (I rely on a feed reader for this stuff unless there’s no other choice, see below), but here’s what I currently have. (Note: I am not very diligent about reading most of these, I fear — not that they don’t deserve them, just that I Get Busy; I’ve bolded the ones I am most likely to hop onto regularly):

*I use ComicAlert to provide an RSS feed/reminder for these strips.
**These strips have no RSS feed. None. And nobody’s scraped one together, either. It’s maddening. So I have a reminder to once a week go to an FF Bookmark Group I’ve set up and look at them. Yeesh. Many thanks if you can point me to feeds for any of these, because it’s enough to make me read them less than I want to.

I’ve just started reading the strip at TheBrasse.com, which content is based on LotRO, as well as EQII. I discovered the site when somebody sent me the creator’s homemade map of the Old Forest for LotRO (invaluable!). If you play LotRO, check out her site.
I tried to figure out RSS feeds once upon a time, but couldn’t make heads nor tails of them, so i gave up. Any simple instructions to walk me through it?
Depends on what you’re using to read them …
I use Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader/). It walks you pretty much through everything. Firefox and IE7 (I believe) have built-in feed detection and you can follow up the help with those guys. There’s also http://feedburner.com. In each of these cases, you either copy the URL of the site or a special feed URL into the reader, and it starts keeping track of new publications on the site in question, assuming it’s doing some sort of RSS (some sites still don’t), which yo u can then easily browse through, go to the original page, etc.
It’s a nice way of keeping track of site updates.
