… to chide Katherine for reading in bed. Both from a sense of the hypocritical, and from a “Glee! She loves to read!” perspective.
But she really does need her sleep.
Why couldn’t she take up some bad habits, like smoking or drinking? At least I could nag her about them with a clean conscience …

Hate to make your guilt worse, but that’s probably the one time of day when she can enjoy reading most and get the most from it.
Change school times – it’s about teens but I suspect young children don’t do any better in the early morning.
If memory serves me right …. 🙂
