Perhaps you should not have nailed it to its perch.
Why did it go flat? Was it road debris? I once had a flat tire at 60mph (fortunately a rear tire rather than front), and the repairman found the handle of a pair of pliers stuck in the tire. I was also fortunate that it could be repaired, because it was a fairly new tire.
No idea. I was driving home from karate. I’d finished with the freeway, was on surface streets. Stopped at a signal. Turned left, and was immediately with the woppita-woppita. Either the cold roads were a problem, or there was some sort of something-or-another in there. Didn’t hear anything from the tire folks.
The tires actually were low enough tread to be ready for replacement, but not so low I’d expect a blow-out.
Ah, well — though it cost me the entire morning (the local CostCo had only two brands of tires of the right size/performance for my WRX, and they only had *3* of each, so I had to schlep over to the CostCo on Wadsworth) I’m set for the rest of the winter. 🙂
