John Edwards was never going to be the person I voted for in the Democratic primaries/caucuses … but I thought he brought an important voice to a variety of issues in the race, so I’m sorry to see him withdraw.

UPDATE:  It’s no surprise, though, that Giuliani is bowing out.  He rolled the dice on a “Florida Only” strategy — and proved it doesn’t work.

  1. 91ul1ani campaigned in Iowa and New Hampshire but pulled out a month or two be for the elections started (December-ish) and the press bought the myth that he campainged in Florida only. So it looks like Roger Ailes is going to have to find another horse to ride now that 91ul1ani is out….so….any bets that Mittens gets Fox’s support now? or McCain?

Yep, sad to see Edwards out, now I guess it is Obama next Tuesday for me. 🙁

It is just not a good time to be a dem now that the only two left in are centerists that are not going to fix the things done in the past 7 years.

  2. Here’s hoping that the Dems add enough Senators this November that Lieberman’s relevance can be deservedly dropped down to a big zero.

My own choices from among the Dems have tended to be between Clinton and Obama anyway, so I’m not as disappointed as you, BD. That said, my biggest concern is that the sniping between their two camps is going to send the Dems down their usual path of self-destruction, and let whomever the GOP nominee (it couldn’t really turn out to be McCain, could it?) slip past and into the White House. That worries me more than anything else at this point.

  3. Ohh, double bonus, nader is thinking of running again, as if he hadn’t done enough damage in ’00 and ’04. One the plus side it will give the GOP one other persons campaign to fund again. ;P
