So Katherine’s been playing more with her plush Cthulhu of late.   (If nothing else, “H’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn” is great speech therapy … just kidding), which is tremendously cute as he remains a night time protector against nightmares (along the lines of “it takes a thief …”).

Anyway, she took him to school today.  From which she tells me she got two questions:

1.  “What kind of creature is that?” (Answer: “He’s Cthulhu!“)

2.  “What Pokemon third evolution is he?” (Answer: Sad shaking of head)

  1. While we were vacationing in Portland, Ben and Naomi discovered Cthulhu (which I had picked up at Powell’s) and Mickey Mouse (from cable TV) at the same time…and were equally entranced by both!

Must have been the wings/ears similarity…and nothing more sinister…I hope…

  2. Just as long as ‘Show and Tell” doesn’t involve summoning Great Old Ones she’ll be fine.

However you might want to keep her from doing a book report on “Beyond the Mountains of Madness” unless you want to visit the school psychologist . . .
