Well, no death, but taxes

Owed a mid-low four figure number to Uncle Sam, getting back about half that from Uncle Bill, so overall not bad.

TurboTax continues to prove itself more than worth the investment.  As do the paper tray where I dump everything tax-related that comes in all year, PayTrust which I do most of my checkwriting through, and GMail which makes it trivial to search for donation receipts and the like.  Net time, post-install:  about three hours.

Not that I don’t believe in the right to bitch about the tax code, etc., and am more than willing to exercise it.  But, all things considered things could have been far worse.

  1. Huzzah! Victory is ours, as well!

Now to await the return in direct deposit form!

I know ideally I should come out even, or pay at tax time, but we use our income tax return to pay our property taxes, so it all works out in the end!
