Finally hooked up with our landscaper again regarding getting the final (shade) tree planted out front. We’d been planning on a Wasatch (Bigtooth, Rocky Mountain Sugar) Maple (Acer grandidentatum), but it’s propensity for bushiness and limited availability led me to change the order to an Autumn Blaze Maple, (Acer x freemanii) which is a red/silver cross, fast-growing, and possessing vivid call colors. The final size is comparable between the two, and it should be pretty spiffy once it’s in. (More info.)
Waiting now on a call from the nursery to schedule the installation.
What, no stage trees?
Gets a little bit hot out there for ’em. Wouldn’t want an accidents blowing up the landscape or something.
