Facebook Naming Frenzy

So as of Midnight Facebook opened itself up to folks having named sites. I.e., instead of your FB links being http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1352635678, they can be http://www.facebook.com/fredsmith. For some folks, this is akin to Nirvana, and everyone seemed to leap upon it akin to the Sooners and the opening of Oklahoma Territory.

Anyway, post-feeding-frenzy, the too-common “davehill” (and sundry punctuated variations) was already taken. So I’ve taken the.consortium (http://www.facebook.com/the.consortium) as my Facebook tag.

Not that I do that much on FB (except mirror the stuff I do on my blog and Twitter), but … well … there it is.

  1. I always said that your parents should have named you Aloysius Murgatroyd.
