Waiting for Amazon

Once upon a time, Amazon would let you save a search (on a author, title, or other string of words), and send you an alert when some new item got added that matched that search. This was a great way to get notified when a favorite author, or series, was out with a new title.

The option got harder and harder to find, and finally seemed to vanish. Which is really annoying, and, I would think, counter-productive to Amazon.

Is anyone aware of an effective way (on or off of Amazon) of looking for this sort of info? In other words, something that would let me know when the next XYZ series book by ABC is available?

  1. Well, you can’t pre-order what you don’t know about. I think what Dave wants is a way to find out when there’s a new book in a series that can be puchased/pre-ordered.

  2. As Avo says — I want something say, “Hey, Brust has new book out” (series or no). Or even, “Hey, that Brust book in hardcover is now available for pre-order in paperback.”
