Where have all the Unblogged Bits gone …?

“… long time posting …?”

For some reason, after having mentioned it the other day, the Digest Post plug-in stopped working after Friday’s edition. Shy little thing, I guess.

If it doesn’t restart tonight, I’ll have to spank it, though.  Because …

Hang on a sec …

AHA!

My server got upgraded (or, rather, I got moved to a Bright Shiny New More Powerful Server) over the weekend.  So now I’m in PHP 5, not 4.  And I distinctly recall that being an issue …

  1. I was, in fact, correct. PHP5 version of the plugin be found here. Let’s see if it works tonight.

It does seem that I can tweak the thing so that it will try and post hourly. If so, I might experiment with that to deal with the “over-sharing” problem, and break up the Unblogged Bits into smaller chunks. A thought, at least.

  2. Well, I can see wp-cron has the plug-in scheduled tonight. In fact, it has it scheduled 4 times at 6 p.m. and 4 times at 7 p.m. I have no idea how to modify the wp-cron queue, unfortunately.

  3. Ouch. My server made that switch right before Christmas, in time to break an app my work website depended upon just as my kids were arriving for the holidays.

    No rest for the geeks.

  4. Well, I actually had asked about PHP5 the other day, so the timing was great. I just forgot that it was going to break my thing.

Interesting, though I had multiple items for both 6 and 7 pm, only the single 6pm post shot off. And now I have multiple items for 6 and 7 pm tomorrow. Hmmm.
