Here you go — Bill O’Reilly calling Sen Coburn on the carpet for claiming Fox News asserted (incorrectly) that if you don’t buy insurance care under ObamaCare, you’ll go to jail. Papa Bear then proclaimed boldly that nobody at Fox New had ever said such a thing — and his people had done the research to prove it.
Roll the tape …
… all of which is followed by O’Reilly crowing that Coburn had been told what’s what for “not having his facts in line.”
I’ve resisted using the epithet “Faux News,” because I’m not a big believer in that sort of name-calling. That may change sooner rather than later. I mean, sure, Fox claims that folks like Beck aren’t actually “news,” they’re “entertainment” (though surveys show that plenty of Fox News viewers consider them “new”). But it’s not just Beck up there frothing at the mouth — it’s actual Fox News talking heads, and their guests, making the assertion (directly, through jokes, in passing) over, and over, and over.
O’Reilly needs to hire new researchers. And apologize to Coburn. And pigs need to fly, too.
