Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….

- From the board room to the war room – That’s the thing — I can’t imagine anyone looking at how Fiorina did as CEO of HP and actually thinking that is at all a plus for her being a Senator.
- South Carolina State Senator Censured For ‘Raghead’ Comments, Says He ‘Could Care Less’ – It’s his comments about the censure — and the folks who stood up for him — that are far more disturbing.
- Tea Party and FreedomWorks plan demonstration against mandatory trash collection. – Wow. The craziness just keeps ramping up beyond 11 …
- [Happy Birthday, Robot!] Proofs! – This is a fun game that has never struck me as needing an actual rule book — but I’ll probably pick up a copy anyway.
- Unbelievable Pencil Art by Paul Lung – I linked to some of these yesterday, but here are still more. Remarkable.
- Lite-On’s Mobile Lamp LED bulb works even when the power is out – That’s a very cool idea.
- Big 12 begins to crumble – So I’ll confess that I have very little interest in collegiate sports and conferences and the like (especially given the mess that the bowl games end up making (and don’t get me started on bowl games)). But this whole emphasis on “which league we’re in and who we play with is all about how much revenue we’ll get” seems, somehow … improper. Which I’m sure is staggeringly naive or idealistic of me, but I sort of have this whimsical idea of athletic competition, especially in a scholastic setting, as being about something more than dollars and cents.
- Google World Cup – Yes, this actually works. Cool.
- Chart Of The Day – I have to wonder if the financial pressures will finally overcome the political idea that “nobody ever got fired for putting more people in jail.”
- 9GAG – The Worst Oil Spills In History
- How Does Office Web Apps Compare to Google Docs? – Microsoft entering into this realm can only mean more competition and thus better service for all. I have no desire to change over to Office Web Apps for what online shared document stuff I do, but it’s certainly nice to know it’s out there as an option.
