For example, I used my new phone extensively and effectively as a camera during my recent vacation … but it’s still not as good, doesn’t have the physical zoom, nor the battery life, of my pocket digital camera. Smartphones can do a lot of things well; they also do a lot of things in a mediocre fashion due to form factor, etc. They make up for it, somewhat, in convenience, but they are not the only gadget you need in your life, by any means.
