Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- No Real Difference Between the Two? – I think it’s a case of wanting to be fair, or realistic. It’s probably a less egregious act than demonizing one side over another — but it’s no more accurate, except to acknowledge that neither “side” is perfect. Which doesn’t mean that both sides (except in a Platonic sense) are equally wrong.
- So, What Does “HREF” Stand For, Anyway? – A nice bit of Internet HTML history.
- The Kids Got Phone Calls from God – I agree it’s despicable. There’s teaching (which is what a VBS ought to be about), and there’s blatant, knowing, intentional deception. Also known as lying. In fact, even “bearing false witness.” I think the Bible has something to say about that.
- Lakeland City Council Finds Loophole to Allow for Religious Invocations – It’s a great case of something on paper that is very obviously something else in reality (and, yes, the right judge will be able to discern that). It’s also a great case of people being willing to blatantly deceive and mislead in the name of Christ. How … righteous of them.
- Rachel Maddow: Prop 8 Case Relied on Two Witnesses Tied to George Rekers – How the Prop H8ers shot themselves in the testimonail foot. You can’t make this stuff up. But it’s delightful to read.
