We got to see a slew of previews/trailers at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Remarkably enough, almost all of them are things I want to see:
Cowboys & Aliens: Just looks like plain old fun. Old West stuff. With aliens. And Harrison Ford as the crotchety powerful bad guy. A hoot-and-a-half.
Green Hornet: This is still looking good (though substantially the same from earlier in the year). I think they’re finding a good balance point between slightly self-mocking humor and some amusing action-adventure stuff.
Tron: Legacy: I need to find a copy of the original to watch with Kay before the sequel rolls out (since half the fun will be, I suspect, the links between the two). The DVDs on Amazon, though, are all hellaciously expensive (even used).
Voyage of the Dawn Treader: This looks really nice, even if the trailer looks a bit more action-oriented than I recall the book being.
Kung Fu Panda 2: I love the original. I expect I’ll love the sequel — except, the original was a marvelous self-contained story, a hero’s journey, now completed. I’m not sure how they’ll make something that moves on from that.
Green Lantern: The trailer was the one I blogged about the other day, and, on the big screen, looks pretty nice. Caveats from that post still apply.
Red Riding Hood: Um … well … it looks pretty. It just feels … like a SyFy Original Movie. I’d love to hear I’m wrong, but … I really felt no yen to go see it.
Video Station in Boulder has it, but then they have everything.
Yes, just one more example of Disney’s insane DVD policy deing a really stupid idea that hinders instead of promoting sales…for themselves.
A point. I wonder how many people think, “Oh, I can’t see this one, I didn’t see the first one.”
Well known fable + Twilight treatment = Red Riding Hood
You don’t see the werewolves in the trailer, so I don’t know if they are sparkly.
