- TV Shows – This is why we never hear back from any alien civilizations via SETI … they’re keeping quiet, hoping we’ll just go away.
- Clerical Abuse Watch: Breaking News: German Cover-up of Abuse Revealed in Church Report – Yeah, this is looking particularly bad.
- Schneier on Security: Full Body Scanners: What’s Next? – “he truth is that exactly two things have made air travel safer since 9/11: reinforcing cockpit doors and convincing passengers they need to fight back. The TSA should continue to screen checked luggage. They should start screening airport workers. And then they should return airport security to pre-9/11 levels and let the rest of their budget be used for better purposes. Investigation and intelligence is how we’re going to prevent terrorism, on airplanes and elsewhere. It’s how we caught the liquid bombers. It’s how we found the Yemeni printer-cartridge bombs. And it’s our best chance at stopping the next serious plot.” A very good (and detailed) analysis of the security challenges and why event the current draconian methods are unlikely to work.

- I Won’t Ride a Bus with Atheist Advertising On It! – Well, it’s certainly their prerogative to boycott the entire transit authority for having ads that they dislike. Nutri-Grain, Fake Color, and Why Do American Kids Deserve Less than Europeans? – We deserve it because We’re Exceptional!
Because us poor Europeans are treated like children by our nanny governments. In the US you are free, and it is your inalienable right to make poorly informed decisions based on misinformation by massive multinationals.
That is a comment for the win.
