This really did not feel like Marvel’s Thor to me (caveat: I was not a regular reader/collector of Thor’s mag except during Walt Simonson’s run; I know him mostly through his Avengers appearances). He certainly doesn’t talk like the comic book Thor, even calling Midgard “Earth.” And why does he seem to be a martial arts expert? Captain America certainly hasn’t trained him to fight when hammerless (at which point he should be puny Don Blake, unless we’re going with Sigurd Jarlsson or some other later incarnation with which I am even less familiar). I certainly won’t pay to see this, and may or may not have Netflix send me the DVD.
Good catch on “Midgard” — I’ll be curious whether it’s true throughout the movie, or even if it was just dubbed in for the ad (which has to appeal to a whole bunch of folks who don’t know their Midgard from their Midwest).
I didn’t see anything in Thor’s moves that struck me as particularly martial-arsty chop-sockey. And Thor lived (and fought wars, and bar brawls) for a long, long time before he had Mjolnir.
It appears that Don Blake is no part of the equation here (unless he adopts that as a nom d’plume somewhere in the film). Again, I suspect it’s a simple adaptation reality. While one could start the tale with Don Blake and have him discover who he is (perfectly legit), they’ve decided to maximize Thor time and have him fall to Earth as-is.
I think it’s still way too early to decide this is a dog. On the other hand, I was being hopeful for “Last Airbender” until it started running, so …

My rule is: if I don’t enjoy anything in a trailer, I won’t pay to see the movie. I came away from the trailer without being “pumped up” the slightest bit. A “meh” was the most I could muster.
As for the combat, I guess I just don’t recall seeing Thor fight without his hammer in the comics. I can’t think of a single panel where he kicked a guy in the face. Heck, why does he even need his hammer when he’s already Captain America Plus?
I also can’t see Thor attacking the doctors and nurses attending him, nor sitting meekly in a chair while being questioned. Perhaps there are valid explanations in the plot, but I don’t know what they would be.
I concur on trailer-to-movie, but the release date (and ultimate trailers) are still some ways away.
There’s certainly historical Thor stuff out in old canon pre-hammer (Tales of Asgard sorts of material, such as http://www.comicsbulletin.com/mondo/images/1002/JiM101Asgard.jpg ). And certainly Thor has fought with fists and wrestling moves in all those endless scenarios of the Lee/Kirby days when something happen to keep his hammer from returning (“I must fight my way to Mjonir … ere thirty seconds pass … and I am transformed into Donald Blake once more …”).
I am guessing that Odin has stripped him of hammer, armor, and much of his strength (other, well, duh, he’d be breaking puny mortals). And, remember, this is also a young enough Thor to be seen as a disappointing and petulant child by Odin … his lashing out (in anger or disorientation) is certain not inconceivable.
