  1. G.E.’s Strategies Let It Avoid Taxes Altogether – NYTimes.com – As an extension of the discussion earlier this week about corporations and taxes. Looking at GE in particular shows areas where gameplaying with tax laws (or controlling what laws are actually on the books) lead to benefits to the company’s shareholders, but not to the nation (except for yacht manufacturers). I’m not against corporate profits, but I also don’t see them as the highest good.
