Unblogged Bits (Sun. 19-Jun-11 1730)

Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….

  1. Only 15 Percent of Virginia House of Delegates Seats Are Being Contested – “The way our system works now, the quantity of meaningful elections is very driven by the imperative to raise funds and then try to allocate them “efficiently” to winnable seats. It leaves us with a needlessly impoverished political debate.”
  2. Justices Have Been Forced To Resign For Doing What Clarence Thomas Has Done | ThinkProgress
  3. DC tells retailers that only certain storylines getting rebooted – Even more muddled news: the books that have been doing well will be continuing in their continuity, except for the ones that aren’t. Some books will continue on from Brightest Day. LSH, astonishingly, isn’t being rebooted. Everything else will be reset, except what’s being dropped. Some books will be set in the past. It’s really unclear how this all fits together, though I suppose it makes it closer to the Post-Crisis WW/Superman reboot scenarios, only line-wide. Of course, the real downside is what DC is touting as its vision: Image in the 90s. Lord help us.
