- On Biking, Why Can’t the U.S. Learn Lessons from Europe? – What the article makes clear is that it’s not solely a matter of government action (making bike lanes), but the culture as a whole — from people accepting biking as a means of transportation, to buildings (apartments and office buildings alike) accommodating bikes.
- Could the iPod Be On Its Deathbed? – Part of the problem may be that there aren’t compelling reasons to buy a new MP3 player, and if the market is saturated that’s going to slow down sales. Personally, I’m not sure I want to conflate my smartphone with my music playing (the former is complex technology that I refresh every few years; the latter is for me a long-term archive to provide portability to my music). Sure, the various music cloud projects offer another answer — but the cloud is still not nearly as ubiquitous as folks would like to think/sell.
