Dearest kitties, the kitchen cupboards don’t need to be batted at until they open at 3 a.m. Nor do I need purring at roughly the loudness of a small outboard motor in my ear at 4 a.m.
Seriously, though, we picked up some inexpensive-to-use night lights for the darkest night-corners of our house, and improved the kitty quiet/unquiet ratio considerably. Not that they’re afraid of the dark, but a little light stills their imaginations.

I have a pretty bright alarm clock, but that doesn’t seem to help. Gives me an idea, tho.
