Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Alabama Rep. Joe Brooks: Evict All Illegal Aliens And Create Millions Of Jobs – Because, of course, the companies that are presently paying illegals will have to raise the wages of the jobs so that blue-collar workers will fill them, and will do so without increasing their prices, which will be a remarkable economic trick. Dolt.
- Shut Up and Listen « Whatever – “Shut up and listen” is advice that everyone would benefit from taking, self, of course, included.
- Researchers’ Typosquatting Stole 20 GB of E-Mail From Fortune 500 | Threat Level | Wired.com – Wow. It’s not the volume per se, but what sort of stuff they managed to sweep up.
- Washtenaw County officials bracing for ‘hurricane’ of human need – But that’s okay because I’m sure as soon as the state boots them off of unemployment they’ll get off their lazy asses and grab one of the copious jobs just waiting for them. Right? That’s the theory, right?
- Look ma! A lion! – “The CIRCLE of LIIIIIIIIIFE … “
- American Companies Competed to Enable Torture – A lovely (and disgusting) example of the “banality of evil.” And let’s remember Mitt Romney’s commitment to never apologize for anything the US has done. Which I guess means he, too, supports sending folks off to countries that will torture them (more than we would) and hold them in secret (more than we would).
- Texas Senator Demands That Air Force Answer to Him on Pulling of “Jesus Loves Nukes” Training – Cornyn either has no idea what he’s talking about, or he’s being disingenuous about the course in question. Teaching Just War Theory is a fine idea. Teaching it solely from (and labeled as ) a Christian viewpoint is highly inappropriate. And I applaud the Christian USAF offices that stepped forward to complain about it.
- Obama’s Mythical ‘Apology Tour’ – “You can’t ever admit to being wrong about anything because being wrong is a sign of weakness. You have to constantly remind everyone how great you are, even if you have to lie to do it. It’s the very fact that you have to lie to do it that makes it necessary to always strike that pose.”
