Retroactive Communal Piety and Partisan Politics

Really? The Right thinks that what we need at the already-constructed World War II memorial on the National Mall is an engraved prayer? I mean, at least they chose something from the period (and by FDR, usually a target for their ire), but adding something after the fact seems unnecessary — especially since it’s being used primarily as a club to attack the Obama Administration as “anti-Christian” and “unpatriotic”.

I haven’t heard any WWII vets complaining that the memorial doesn’t include enough prayer, have you? #ddtb
