Apparently the AndroidOS "Gingerbread" upgrade (2.3.4) is now once again being pushed out to HTC Incredible phones. (One distinct downside to the Android world is that OS upgrades have to route through the handset manufacturers first, so they can make their UI overlay work properly with it; then they have to coordinate with the carriers, Verizon in my case, to actually push it out. The Apple model is a lot simpler.)
As far as what the upgrade does for me vs the v2.2 OS … well, not much so far as I can tell, feature-wise. Supposedly it is more stable and runs faster, plus it whitens teeth, freshens breath, and makes you popular at parties.
If my phone bursts into flames, y'all will be among the first to know. #ddtb

Don’t know when/if the T-Mobile G4 is getting this.
