Since nobody on the Right can claim that the Obama White House is ignoring / battling / attacking Christmas with its decorations, instead they are lambasting the Obama White House for not being austere enough (in keeping with these difficult economic times).
Gee, you'd almost think that they were attacking Obama all the time for political, not philosophical, reasons. I mean, imagine the foofoorah about Grinchiness if he announced that he was going to be cutting back on the White House decorating budget for the holidays … #ddtb

I’m sure the GOP would have attacked Obama no matter what he did for Christmas. If he’s thrifty for Christmas, then the GOP says he’s not helping the economy, and/or they say he’s anti-Religion (i.e. anti-Christian). If he’s spendy for Christmas, then the GOP says he’s not respectful of the economic hardship of some citizens.
Of course I’m guessing that many ultra-wealthy senators and congressmen are spending plenty for Christmas, so I suspect that any who make this criticism are probably being hypocrites.
