While he was a (relatively) fringe figure in GOP politics, making speeches and lobbying his friends and saying outrageous things to audiences paying for him to say outrageous things, then nobody cared about his record, his ethics problems, his obnoxious personality, or his arrogant pseudo-intellectualism.
But the higher he went in the polls, the more the media was happy to pull out stores from the 90s, the more people were willing to be reminded of his marriage record, the increased attention was paid to his zany "When I'm King of the Country, I'll just ignore the judges who disagree with me" rhetoric."
And, fortunately (and humorously) that seems to be slowing, even sinking his boat. #ddtb
