- Dinner at the fabulous Hamlet Restaurant at Moonstone Gardens, Cambria. Great view (daylight) but food and service pretty decent, too. #
- Breakfast time at the Quality in. With a tour bus worth of our new friends/competitors. Ugh. #
- Quality Inn Wi-Fi is great… in the lobby. Which is good because phone connectivity is nigh nil. #
- At Xanadu, er, Hearst Castle. Starts with lovingly crafted 40min movie hagiography of WRHearst #0 01% #
- Searched and searched the Hearst Castle gift shop, but couldn't find a copy of "Citizen Kane". Weird. #
- Elephant seals! #
- Ragged Point Inn Restaurant – good food, nice waiter, but painfully slow early afternoon service. #
- Heading back to Xanadu for the evening tour. #
- Enjoyed seeing cattle herds just off Hwy 1 with occasional zebra mixed in (remains of Heart's private zoo). #
