Not surprisingly, microcredit isn't that much different than macrocredit
While I think the article takes a too-pessimistic (and institutional) tone, the bottom line is not surprising: credit is used wisely by some, poorly by others. It's certainly not a panacea, but just as larger scale credit can create a sustainable investment, microcredit can, when offered and used intelligently, create a sustainable, if smaller, investment, too. Throwing money at the problem doesn't necessarily fix it — but it's not going to get fixed without some money to help bring people out of poverty. #ddtb
