The Arch-Right vs the Mormon

Bryan Fischer, famous dolt, suggests that True Christians(TM) won't vote for Romney because Romney, a Mormon, is a "spiritually compromised" "polytheist," a "non-Christian."

On the one hand, as a non-fan of Mitt for a variety of reasons (none of which include the above), I am pleased at any predictions that the fundamentalist Religious Right might not turn out for him.

On the other hand, I hate to applaud any sort of irrational thinking of this sort, whether or not it benefits a cause I believe in. #ddtb

  1. Anyone who listens to Bryan Fischer, bigot, liar, misogynist and coward, is probably not going to be thinking rationally about this election or anything else.

  2. Very, and sadly, true, +John E. Bredehoft. It's been interesting to see how and where those groups have been willing to work together over the past decade or two — putting aside theological conflicts to support broader causes in the Culture Wars. Interestingly, that's not dissimilar to the processes that led most mainstream Protestant sects to put aside their very real differences in the 19th Century.
