Looking at the world of operations management, starting with queue theory.

As someone who spends a lot of time in line, I certainly agree with pretty much all of these:

1. People get bored in lines.
2. People hate waiting longer than they expect.
3. People really hate unfairness / queue jumping.

Yup.  And how companies manage that (through the myriad queues we navigate in life) has a lot to do with how we feel about them and our experiences with them.
