Dear State Senator Kevin Grantham:
There's a religion out there that you really should know about. It's after world-wide domination — its founder calls on all its members to spread it's doctrine to all mankind, and its practitioners have been known to forcibly convert people they've conquered. Wars have been fought in its name (internally and against others), and today some still claim its principles and supremacy as the basis for holy war against others. Its so-called centers of worship were often founded as the focal points (geographically and visually) of towns and villages, and then cities as they grew, and serve in many cases not only as places of religion but as social centers and sometimes even religiously-focused schools. It's frequently been bound up not only in matters of faith, but in politics as well, and its members often seek to insinuate themselves into government and impose their beliefs upon all the population. Indeed, in some countries, they've managed to get the government to provide them funding for their activities and, at times, declare as traitors and outlaws those who don't follow the orthodox religion of the state.
And, no, State Senator Grantham, I'm not talking Islam here. Dolt.
