As far as I'm concerned, Peter Jackson can keep cranking out Tolkien movies for as long as he likes. I'll buy tickets every Christmas season, like very happy clockwork.

Well, now we have further proof that the splitting of final films has become an epidemic in the film industry. We saw it with Twilight, with Harry Potter, and recently with The Hunger Games. I think this generally benefits these movies that are based on books. If they split it out they don’t have to leave out as much of the “non plot critical” points. I agree with you about Jackson regardless.
Good point. Even though a “simpler” book, there are a lot of entertaining details that a normal movie (or even two) would leave out, let alone all the bits and bobs that Jackson is expanding on.
