Was it odd timing that Ryan was announced on a Saturday morning? Or was it to lock in the discussions on the Sunday talk shows? Or does anyone pay any attention to the Sunday talk shows any more?
- Romney/Ryan – Okay, I was surprised that Romney didn’t go for someone to solidify the Religious Right vote. On the other hand, I’m not surprised he went for someone to solidify the “ice flow economics” vote.
- The Romney-Ryan Budget – Not quite sure why one of the Romney camp’s first announcements, after bringing on Paul Ryan who is known almost exclusively for his budget plans, was that Romney isn’t running on Paul Ryan’s budget plans.
- Tax returns for me but not for thee – So Mitt’s tax returns are off-limits to the electorate, but his VP candidates’ tax returns were all reviewed for several years back. Got it.
