Faced with a situation where female unemployment is massive, but the local religious leaders have conniptions whenever women "mingle" with strange men? Simple — create light industry municipalities that are open to women only. (Except, one assumes, their overseers and the religious inspectors.)

Just shows what a different world it is. I can see the benefit, to the women, of being in a protected world. But it does nothing to fix the problem, which they don't even see as a problem.
I don't know – give it a generation, and this could settle out very interestingly.
So it's almost like they are separate … but equal. Interesting idea. Has anybody else tried that before? Did it work out?
Yeah, not so well.
Hopefully the "Jane Crow" laws in Saudi won't last as long s ours did.
