Actually, Paul Ryan was against it, then for it (insofar as requesting funds from it) even while he was against it, then fully against it (to the extent of denying he'd ever been for it), until forced to admit yesterday he'd been for it, even though actually against it.
Ryan's not the only GOP pol to have been pontificating over the wastefulness and futility of the stimulus, even while writing glowing applications for local businesses and groups to get money from it (assuring the feds that it would bring in business and jobs to Wisconsin, even as he was publicly railing that the stimulus would do nothing for the employment situation).
But he is, of course, the poster boy for "fiscal responsibility". And the VP candidate. And that he's been so absent-minded in his denial that ever did any such thing doesn't lend any sense of credibility to the matter.
