And, oh, yeah, I’d forgotten about Akin’s (and Paul Ryan’s) co-sponsorship role in the “forcible rape” legislation from the House GOP last year — where women would only be eligible for Medicaid (or any federally supported / tax credited insurance under the ACA) to have an abortion in case of rape if it was “forcible” rape.  Rape through coersion, rape through drugs, statutory rape … those wouldn’t count.

Seems right in line with the whole “legitimate rape” talk that the Romney/Ryan campaign is trying to back away from. For the moment.
