Interestingly enough, it seems that the labels "pro-life" and "pro-choice" are more totemic than accurate, as a substantial number of "pro-life" people indicate that they think that decisions about abortions should be made by women and their families and doctors, not by the government.
Which says to me that a lot of people think that the strict definitions of the term "pro-life" vs "pro-choice" are in conflict, while they are not. One can not be in favor of abortion (or other very personal moral decisions) either under certain circumstances or in general, while not thinking that it's up to the government to make that decision for you.
