Because, after all, why should a (male) politician crusading to make abortion illegal even bother considering why a woman would want one in the first place? I mean, that gets into all that "empathy" and "sympathy" and "root causes" and "blame someone else" kind of claptrap that only muddies the issue, right? Right?
