While TV today, as a whole, is great, something that has inexorably been fading away is the TV theme song. Between shows starting immediately after the previous credits roll, to trying to eke out an extra 30 seconds or a minute of show (or commercial) time, the theme song is something of an endangered species.
Here are some guys singing a whole bunch of them — mostly sitcoms from the 70s and 80s. Good stuff, even if I didn't watch half those shows. That's the power of theme songs.

They left out all my favorite themes! They had five or six that I like, but none that I sing in the shower. And they had a bunch that I either don’t like or don’t know.

Oh, I could fill some C-90 cassettes with classic themes I liked. In fact, I did.
Topping my current list of favorite themes is not something from the ’70s or ’80s, although there are quite a few of those. My top fave right now is Big Bang Theory. How can you not love a theme song with the line, “The autotrophs began to drool.” And the fact that autotrophs, being plants, can’t drool, is beside the point. Still love it.
Remember the time we tried to sync our tapes of The Hardy Boys Mysteries, but mine was from a later season? Or the time we were talking about Star Trek, and you put a tape in and I said “The City on the Edge of Forever” and you grumbled “I hate people who can identify episodes by the opening music”?
