Offered not as a critique, per se, of Billy Graham — who I honestly believe is not directing any of this activity — but as an example of the continuing tension on the Religious Right between "Mormonism is an evil, non-Christian cult that we must shun!" and "We must get a Republican in the White House at any cost!"
I have to wonder, should Mitt lose next month, how much internal blame will go around the conservative Christian Right about how some of them cozied up to a (gasp) Mormon and so the Lord turned away His favor from their cause.

When I was in Tennessee, I well remember articles in Pulpit Helps describing Mormonism as a dangerous cult that would lead people away from Christianity. I've been stunned to watch that all get swept under the rug to get a (ahem) white Republican back in office.
I certainly hope to find out what will happen when Obama is re-elected.
It's been interesting to see even some of the anti-Catholic sentiment bubble up to the surface the past few years.
My grandmother always told me that Mormonism is a cult. I'm willing to bet she votes for Romney to get the black man out of office though…
