I remain irked that Margie's employer still requires company phones to be BlackBerries. But this article is more than a bit silly.

Quick, Hide the BlackBerry, It’s Too Uncool
The phone once coveted by the elite and the powerful is becoming an object of ridicule as Androids and iPhones corner the smartphone market.

“BlackBerry users are like Myspace users,” sneers Craig Robert Smith, a Los Angeles musician. “They probably still chat on AOL Instant Messenger.”
I lol'd.
A lot of sneering going on in that article. 😛
Yeah. Folks are certainly making a lot of jokes at RIM's expense. I think the media is frankly just excited to be able to 'get' technology jokes now.
RIM is in serious trouble. I don't see them coming back from this. Definitely not to where they were, possibly expect them to get split up for patents.
That's part of what makes Margie's employer's decision so irksome. I'll be surprised if they don't change it within a year.
It would not be surprising to me either. Yahoo! will likely be the first of many to make this jump. I had to put in a business case to get an Android myself, but I suspect that won't be the case much longer.
