Which doesn't seem to match the last time I tried this, where I forwarded something from Public to the Doctor Who Community and it double-posted to my blog. Hurm. Need to continue to figure this out.)

Rewatching the Eleventh Doctor
I was not a great fan of the Eleventh Doctor when he came in. A bit to consciously idiosyncratic, with a Companion who felt a bit too Mary-Sue and her boyfriend who felt a bit too Mickey.
But I have to say, between having now watched them for a few seasons, and now going back to rewatch the first series with the Eleventh Doctor (as we slowly catch my 11yo daughter up with the show), I'm finding it more enjoyable. I'm seeing a lot more places on rewatch where the Doctor isn't simply a goofball trotting out new catch phrases and costume accessories. I'm seeing a lot more places where Amy isn't simply the Most Clever one. And I'm seeing a lot more places where Rory is an Everyman caught up in a fantastic, bewildering adventure that tests everything he thinks he should be.
