The problem with model legislation is that it's only a model (SSSHHH!)
Apparently the Michigan "Right to Work" bill pretty clearly doesn't adhere to Michigan constitutional law. Which makes sense, given that it's pretty clearly boilerplate legislation from ALEC that the GOP was so rushed to pass during the lame duck session that … well, I guess nobody bothered to fill in the blanks and check off the boxes sufficiently.

Does it ever occur to them that if you know you have to lock the public out of your process… then maybe you're not representing your people very well?
Well, it may be that they're convinced that all those public types wanting access are just rabble-rousing radical liberals, and that the only way to defeat then on behalf of True Americans is to pull these shenanigans.
Or maybe they're representing something other than the public. Take your pick.
