Congressional ethics investigators could soon be silenced
Its job is to flag possible conflicts of interest and even the legality of some lawmakers’ actions. Now, the Office of Congressional Ethics could disappear.

Naturally. The solution would be to replace it with a non-partisan non-profit group with the same powers and remit.
Well, we certainly can't have outsiders monitoring or influencing the sacrosanct and sovereign powers of the Legislative Branch, +Wendy Cockcroft! That would be against everything the Founding Fathers ever stood for!
Congress has ethics? Take care of #1 first and always, that's their only ethic.
