This is the first time I've been a Doctor-follower when they did a "The X Doctors" show. Fantastic.
'As of today Steven Moffat has confirmed that he is completing a script that will feature the current Doctor, Matt Smith, facing a foe so great that he will need assistance from all ten of the previous TARDIS inhabitants. That’s right, rumors say Eccleston is in!!! The producers have gotten agreements from all living actors who have ever played the Doctor; Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith. With some studio special effects they have even resurrected William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, and Jon Pertwee.'

Wait, really? No BS, they're really doing this? And getting Eccleston and everyone else?
That seems to be the current story. Surprised about Eccleston (unless it turns out that he had to give his okay for some footage to be repurposed for this).
Wonder how they're going to address the fact that some of them are getting a bit crusty…
I suspect it will be politely not noticed (or, at most, joked lightly about in passing). That seems to be the way it's usually handled.
Oh god. I like the doctor, but these fan service episodes are Always Terrible. That said, I will still 100% watch this.
Also, looks like they will be giving Hartnell the Tupac treatment.
I don't expect brilliance. I do expect fun fan service.

Journey's End was pretty fan-servicey with getting all of the reboot companions to that point, and they still made it work.
