So here's Facebook, trying to become … a meta-operating system on select Android phones, persistently available and on top of everything else. Yikes. Quoth Zuickerberg:
'We are trying to build a community. We have a billion folks using our services now, and we want to get to 3 or 5 billion one day. We’re going to do that by building the best experience across all devices.'
I have to wonder how many of that "billion" are extremely shallow users, like myself. I get onto FB maybe once every week or two, to check out any message that have come in. I stay on only because I have friends that are only on FB, but I talk to a lot of folks who are "Oh, I used to use it all the time, but now I've backed way off."

Facebook accounts for 23 percent of the time people spend on smartphones. The next-biggest ones are Instagram and Google Maps, which are each at 3 percent.
We know this is Google+ and all, but what do you all think of the new product, only available on select Android phones?

I probably look like a very active user, but it's exclusively in the confines of a private group. I've deleted everything off my profile.
As for the phone, it kind of makes me laugh. I won't even install the basic FB app on my phone, I sure as hell wouldn't let them take over the whole thing.
