Typing this on IE. More reliable that Chrome. The problems I’ve had with Chrome.

And for the record, I think gmail is crap too, nowhere near as good as the outdated version of Outlook we have at work.

I can only assume that half the voting public, according to polls, actually *want* things to get "nasty" for a while. Probably because they assume it will be nasty for someone else, and they are okay with that.

I both loved and was deeply disturbed reading the George Stewart's " #EarthAbides " -- a thought-out and morose tale of the collapse of civilization after a 99.9% deadly plague sweeps the globe.

I won't be watching the MGM+ adaptation, though, both because that's a streaming service I don't have, and because either it will be faithful to the original (and deeply depressing), or not (and so depressing in its own way).

So in his increasingly deranged rants on the campaign trail, Trump is now ...

1. Suggesting he'd be fine if the press at his rallies were shot.

2. Expressing pleasure that Mitch McConnell will be gone soon (nice payback for selling your soul, Mitch).

3. Clearly saying he should have refused to leave the White House in 2021, after losing the election.

That this race remains so tight is mindboggling to me. The cognitive dissonance in this country is astonishing.

And an amazing, unexpected, happy ending.

Three weeks ago, our 17yo, pudgy, arthritic Siberian slipped past me thru an open door, undetected. Her absence wasn't noticed until the next morning and there was no sign of her.

We had, frankly, lost hope.

This afternoon, a neighbor some houses away connected the dots between a poster I had put up and the cat that was hanging out in their window well, and contacted me.

And it was our cat, and she's now home (and getting much pampering).

Whew!
