What he should do? Man that's a loaded question. You want to tell him to stand up for his beliefs.
But to be honest, the smart move would be to put your head down and get yourself through school with a good grade and into a nice college where people aren't crazy. The community will probably back this teacher, if it comes to some kind of challenge.
You'll never get the stupid out of high school, but the smart people can get themselves out.
Wow, sounds like when I was forced to take Bible Lit class in highschool and all it was was 55 minutes of Proselytizing and me going to the principal very day to complain about it and whatever grade I got on some test or paper.
