Reshared post from +James D.
I've always been a fan of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. One of my favorite "hidden gems" in Disney's Hollywood Studios is the Eddie Valiant office. Thanks to this article by Jim Korkis for +MousePlanet I now understand exactly why Roger did a vanishing act at the height of his popularity. Link here: http://bit.ly/11OQ5fw
I emailed Disney about the same treatment given to Darkwing Duck. Of course their explanation wasn't near as detailed as this article.
Interesting stuff.
As someone whose company has done work with Disney in the past, they are not an easy firm to work with. They particularly get hinky about sharing creative control (or margin) with anyone.
Same here and know exactly what you're talking about. They sent us what can only be described as a 'book' about what certain characters can and cannot do, etc.
And this was just for toy basketballs and backboards.
It's a shame, but that's what happens sometimes when you hedge your bets.
Roger does still have a ride at Disneyland, and it ranks up there with one of the best queues they've ever done.
Now I need to try and find that office when we are there in September.
I think the window is in CA Adventure.
Nope, Florida according to the article. Interestingly, I read an article online years back about the negotiations to bring the Warner Bros toons into a Disney movie, something that went south later, nixing a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
