House blocks enforcement of light bulb standards – The Hill’s Floor Action
The House on Wednesday once again voted to block the enforcement of light bulb standards that many say would effectively force people to buy more expensive compact fluorescent bulbs. Just like last year, Rep.
"If the new energy-efficient light bulbs save money, and if they're better for the environment, we should trust our constituents to make the choice on their own move toward these bulbs"…
Yes, because people always make choices that are good for the environment and never make choices that waste money.
Turkey.
This same gentleman would, I assume, also hold with the idea that people make bad long-term economic (and even moral) decisions when faced with the prospect of government handouts. So his faith in the public to weigh long-term financial and environmental impacts when they go to the store and are faced with a twelve-pack of cheap incandescent imports for $2.95 is rather touching, if inexplicable.
